Confirmed Sales Customer
Overall my experience was a mixed bag. I feel like I got a "fair" price, which was hammered out before I ever got to the dealership. I had an appointment at 10:45, and arrived at 10:30. It still took three hours, mostly of which was waiting in the lobby. This should never happen. Blake, the salesman was nice and polite. My only critique of him is he only took a few minutes to explain all the tech and features of the truck, most of which I still do not understand. A truck with all the features it has would need much more time to go over than a few minutes. My biggest complaint is with Donna in the finance department. She was not rude, and was polite to me, however I had zero confidence in her abilities to complete her task and make me leave satisfied. To start, I have over an 800 credit score. She gave me one option for financing, and essentially said take it or leave it. I asked if there were other financing options or if she could do better on the rate. To both she said no. I work in finance and know I can get better rates. Further she told me multiple times after asking for clarifying and said I could not pay off the loan or refinance it for at least 5 months. I am somewhat floored by that. I've never heard of such a thing on a consumer loan. She did not go over the paperwork she was asking me to sign, I had to do that mostly on my own. Further there were several documents that she didn't even know what they were, or could explain what they did. She told me this to my face. This almost made me walk out of the dealership as it gave me a very uneasy feeling. The whole finance process gave me a unsatisfactory feeling during it, and after. Further after getting home I tried reading some of the paperwork and had some follow up questions which I sent to her, and never received a response of which I am certain she had received, as I had to text her multiple documents to her cell number during the buying process, and sent my follow questions after the sale to the same number. No response. People spend a lot of money on new vehicles, and should feel good about it after the purchase. I do not feel that way after this. I have a truck that I do not fully understand, financial documents that were not explained to me, other than take it or leave it on the rate, and that I cannot pay the loan off or refinance it. My rate was higher than 3 other banks that I had checked with, and then after being told I have to keep the loan for at least 5 months, it just made me feel like I most likely didn't make the best decision for myself in buying this truck. I will likely not recommend purchasing from this dealership in the future, and the overall GM experience does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling that I made the right decision to purchase from GM again. You can look up my history. I have purchased new GM vehicles since 1996. Since that time I have purchased a minimum of 11 new vehicles from GM. With all of the competition out there, I will be sure to put other vehicle brands much higher on the list to look at before I will look at a GM product again. I do hope that someone actually reads this review and applies it to future customers and learns from behaviors that they should modify. Thank you, Shawn Savage
