Four Summer Driving Tips
Summer is here. Are you ready for it? Is your vehicle ready? Summer can be fun, but let's be honest, It can also be sweaty without air conditioning. The last thing you want is your air conditioning to stop working or to find yourself pulling over to the side of the road in a heat wave because a tire has popped or your vehicle's engine is overheating. So before you venture forth and explore the open road this summer, complete a few automotive checks.
#1 Check your air conditioner.
If you're hearing fan noises or noticing the air conditioning just isn't as strong as it used to be, bring your vehicle in for a quick air conditioner check. If you're hearing noises or experiencing poor A/C performance, it might be a part going bad. If the air just isn't as cold as previous years, it might just need a Freon recharge.
#2 Check the coolant levels in your car.
Coolant stops your vehicle's engine from freezing in the winter and stops it from overheating in the summer. If the engine has low coolant, refill with a 50/50 mixture of water and coolant.
#3 Replace worn tires.
If your tires are worn, it's time to replace them. The heat of summer will cause the air in your tires to expand more when you're driving and it could cause your vehicle's tires to blow.
#4 Change your oil.
Oil does many things for your engine. One of the main positives in relation to summer is it helps keep the engine cooler and running smoother. Changing it regularly will help your car's engine last longer with fewer repairs.
